About Us

Formed in 1997 CyClops Percussion has changed the face of percussion education and arranging. A publishing company designed to bring innovative compositions, arrangements, and method books to music educators throughout the world; we strive to develop complete musicians at all skill levels and all ensemble sizes.

About the founders:

Gary McCombs and Paul Williams have been instructing and writing together since 1992. Both graduates of Plymouth Canton High School; they were members of the BOA National Champion Marching Band, along with concert and jazz ensembles. Since, Williams and McCombs have been educators/writers in many music education departments including: Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps, Southgate Anderson, Farmington Harrison, South Redford Schools (under the direction of Ed Lucius), Flushing Schools (under the direction of Pat Ruddy), West Bloomfield Schools, Milford Schools, Linden Schools, Livonia Schools, Lincoln Consolidated Schools, The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps, guest lecturers for the Percussion Methods class at Oakland University, Rochester MI, and the Farmington United Percussion Ensemble.

Cyclops Percussion was also involved in the planning of the musical portion of the 2005 Thanksgiving Day Half Time show featuring Mariah Carey, as well as arranging music performed at Disney's Epcot Center. Williams/McCombs also served on the MCGC board of directors and as the directors of education for Pro Percussion Center in Plymouth MI.
